SIA Newsletter 11 – Primary

Dear SIA Community,

I hope you are all well and that the rain has not created too much disruption for you. In this week’s letter, I would like to take a moment to reflect on and recognise the outstanding efforts of our PE team and the incredible sporting enrichment that takes place here at SIA. Our PE team demonstrates unparalleled dedication to fostering a culture of sportsmanship and skill development, ensuring that our learners not only excel in their chosen sports but also derive joy and fulfillment from participating in them.

The list of our achievements in various EISSA competitions is truly remarkable. From cross country, swimming, basketball, netball, and football, our learners have consistently showcased their talent and our HPL VAAs of perseverance, resilience and teamwork. We’re immensely proud of our accomplishments, including:

  • Securing 3rd place overall in cross country, with numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals across all age groups.
  • Emerging victorious in the U10 boys and U18 boys football categories.
  • Achieving 3rd place in U16 girls and U14 boys football.
  • Dominating the U10 girls swimming team, clinching the top spot at the swimming gala hosted by RAK Academy.

As we look forward, there are more exciting EISSA events on the horizon, including athletics in February, cricket in March, basketball in April, badminton in May, and swimming in both February and May. Our training sessions, held before school, during break times, and on Monday afternoons, reflect our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in sports.

Our annual Sports Days were spread across the week, scaffolded to different age groups, and served as a vibrant celebration of athleticism and camaraderie. We were thrilled to witness the enthusiasm and competitive spirit displayed by our learners during these events. I would also like to thank all the parents that came to support as it was lovely to have you in school and I hope you enjoyed our Sports Days. Additionally, the Teachers vs. Year 11 football match and the Staff vs. Parents team games afternoon were fab and further showed our community oriented focus.

I would just like to say a big thank you to Dr Loria, one of our parents from our Friends of SIA group, for delivering invaluable first aid-related sessions to our learners. Thank you for sharing your expertise and helping us promote safety and well-being within our community. We look forward to continuing the learning process with you via our extensive programme.

Lastly for this week, we were blown away by the incredible submissions pouring in for the SIA talent show! The abundance of talent and creativity is simply amazing. Get ready for an unforgettable showcase of passion and skills!
