We are delighted to announce the expansion of our BTEC provision with the introduction of the Pearson International BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business for Year 10 learners.

This exciting addition reflects our commitment to providing a broad, inclusive and future-focused curriculum that recognises learners’ individual strengths, interests and career aspirations.

The Level 2 Business qualification introduces learners to the dynamic world of business, developing essential knowledge and practical skills in areas such as entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, communication and problem-solving. Through real-world business scenarios and applied learning, learners develop the confidence, independence and critical-thinking skills needed for future success.

Building on Our Established Sixth Form BTEC Provision

Our new Level 2 Business pathway complements our established Sixth Form provision, where learners can pursue Pearson International BTEC Level 3 qualifications in four specialist areas:

• Business – Developing commercial awareness, entrepreneurial thinking and an understanding of business operations.

• Information Technology (IT) – Exploring digital technologies, IT systems and practical skills relevant to the modern workplace.

• Applied Science – Applying scientific knowledge and investigative skills to practical, real-world contexts.

• Sport – Developing an understanding of sport, fitness, performance and the wider sports industry.

Our BTEC programmes combine academic understanding with practical, vocational learning, allowing learners to apply their knowledge to realistic scenarios and develop transferable skills valued in further education and employment.

By offering BTEC qualifications across both Secondary and Sixth Form, we continue to strengthen our commitment to personalised learning pathways, ensuring learners have opportunities to pursue qualifications aligned with their abilities, ambitions and future goals.

BTEC Subjects We Offer

BTEC International Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business

Learners explore the dynamic world of business, including marketing, finance, human resources, and entrepreneurship. The course encourages problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills that prepare learners for both higher education and the workplace.

Course Content May Include:

• Marketing principles and campaigns
• Financial planning and analysis

Pathways: Business management, accounting, marketing, economics, or starting their own business.

BTEC International Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science

This course provides a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and physics while focusing on practical scientific skills. Learners carry out experiments, research projects, and applied investigations to connect theory with real-world science.

Course Content May Include:
