Accreditation
Scholars International Academy is one of only two schools in Sharjah accredited by the prestigious British Schools Overseas (BSO) and is a member of the British Schools Middle East (BSME) The standards required, and the support provided ensure a high quality premier British Education.
In 2021, SIA also became the first High-Performance Learning School in Sharjah.

Scholars International Academy is qualified by the two highest accreditation organizations for British curriculum schools.
SIA is accredited by British Schools Overseas, the oversees accrediting body of Department for Education of England and Wales (DfE). British schools are inspected against standards that are equivalent to those for independent schools in the UK. SIA has met those standards and received the recognition by the Department for Education of England and Wales.
SIA is a fully accredited member of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME). The BSME is a network of high quality British international schools in the Middle East region. The organization supports accreditation of member schools, provides professional development for teachers and academic, sports and performing arts events for learner participation by member schools.
We are honoured to be one of only two schools in Sharjah to hold both of these distinguished accreditations.
High Performance Learning
The High Performing School Award is awarded to schools that:
- Have effectively adopted the HPL philosophy and framework and now meet the demanding criteria of the award.
- Meet the High Performing School Award Standards and continually review the scope and quality of their provision to ensure that they are delivering High Performance Learning for their Learners.
- Show improvement in academic outcomes and ensure learners are equipped with the values, attitudes and attributes that will serve them well in university, the workplace and in life.
The High Performing School Award programme is a fully supported holistic adoption programme that ensures full understanding of the HPL philosophy and framework. It is designed as a six term, school-wide professional development project during which the school travels through a series of defined stages to adopt the HPL philosophy and framework and reach the attainment level necessary to achieve the High Performing School Award.

Duke of Edinburgh International Award
Scholars International School is proud to deliver the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
The award was founded in 1956 by His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh (husband to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom). Over eight million young people have participated in it in over 140 countries and territories. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading youth achievement award and offers young learners the opportunity to develop into independent, caring, risk-taking and responsible well-rounded adults. The award equips young people for life regardless of their background, culture, physical ability, skills, and interests. Participating in the award is a personal challenge and not a competition against others; it pushes young people to their personal limits and recognises their achievements.
