SIA Newsletter 8 – Primary

Dear SIA Community,

Many of you may be aware that the week before last, SIA underwent a rigorous SPEA review. The purpose of this review is to focus on various areas, including academic performance, learner well-being, and overall school environment. Whilst the outcomes of this review are yet to be made public, we as a team, are pleased with the positive outcomes and development areas which are suggested by the review team. The feedback from the inspectors highlights our commitment to providing a high-quality education and a nurturing environment for all our learners here at SIA and I look forward to sharing the full report with parents in a few weeks’ time.

We are also excited to share the success of our recent KS3 Extravaganza which took place last Thursday! This event showcased the amazing talents of our learners, from musical performances to captivating art displays and impressive academic projects. It was an opportunity for our children to shine and for parents to witness the diverse skills and creativity of our young learners. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to more such events in the future.

We also want to inform you about a recent change in our teaching staff. Ms. Leila, one of our secondary English teachers, has sadly left due to personal circumstances. We want to reassure you that Ms Suzie has already taken on the older year groups to maintain consistency and continuity, and we have already appointed a highly qualified replacement. The English department will ensure a smooth transition and maintain the high standards of teaching that your children deserve. We are confident that our learners will continue to thrive under their collective guidance.

On another positive note I would like to congratulate our very own chessmaster, Danish Lenin in Y5 who took third place in the U10-British Schools Middle East Chess Championship. This is a huge achievement, and we are very proud of his success.

On another note, I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents about the importance of monitoring their children’s device usage on the school buses. With the increasing use of technology, it is crucial to ensure that our children are using their devices responsibly and safely. We urge you to set parental controls on their devices to protect them from inappropriate content and to encourage productive use of their screen time. This will help create a safer online environment and support their learning and development.

Finally, as the month of Ramadan approaches, and our shortened school days commence, let’s embrace this special time with our families, teaching our children the values of patience, gratitude, and empathy. May this holy month bring peace, joy, and countless blessings to your homes. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Kind Regards,

Ms. Janice Butterworth | Acting Principal
